Update

Alright guys, Im very very sorry that i haven't posted something in such a long time, but I had a lot of stuff going on. 
First and probably the most important event in the past months there was prom. I have a lot to say about that and im going to make another separate post about it. The events I want to tell you now about are my FCCLA trip to San Antonio (I've been there before but thats gonna be another post) and my trip to the Texas State Aquarium. 
I'm a member of the FCCLA club of my high school. FCCLA stands for Future Career and Community Leaders of America and Wikipedia describes our mission like this:

To promote personal growth and leadership development through Family and Consumer Sciences education. Focusing on the multiple roles of family member, wage earner and community leader, members develop skills for life through: character development, creative and critical thinking, interpersonal communication, practical knowledge, and career preparation.

We do a lot of fundraisers and collecting donations to fulfill our goal to donate 5,000$ to the american cancer foundation. Most of my friends are in there and its always fun to do things with them. For the end of the school year we planned a trip to San Antonio. We visited the wax museum, ripleys believe it or not (a museum full of curiosities ) and we went to market square (that is a place where many mexican shops and restaurants are). All in all I had a lot of fun and it was a perfect day with my friends.

Another day I went to visit the Texas State Aquarium in Corpus Christi. Ive never seen dolphins before so it was a very exciting event for me to watch a dolphin-show. It was amazing to see them doing tricks and jumps. There were a lot of other animals there but its kind of the same like our Aquarium in Germany so you can imagine how it was.

February update

Hey y'all,

I actually thought about writing my blog in english so everyone can read it but im not sure if y'all would like it so from now on I'll write my posts in both languages. I'm sorry that I didn't post anything in the past weeks but the days going by way to fast here so I try to enjoy every moment. I had so many very cool things going on last month and I want to share all of them with you. First of all I had my valentines favorites dance. A friend of mine asked me and we went together and had a lot of fun that night. I learned that the american way of dancing is so much different than our german way and I kind of found an new passion in photographing with a polaroid camera. The week after the dance my family and I went to a basketball game from the Harlem Globetrotters. They are playing just for fun and they're making such a gray and funny show. Click here and see an example :D 

My family, a friend and I went to Luisiana for the last weekend of February to celebrate my hostmums  birthday at one of Luisianas best known casinos. I had a great time there and I look forward to go back in spring break. Maybe it was just such a good time because the city we've been is named Kinder and now the "Bakery of Kinder" has a total different meaning to me. 

Our school basketball team made it to state last week and now we all hope that they will make it. The support of teams is unbelievable here. It is such a great experience to be part of the school spirit but I will tell you more in my next video.

ich habe darüber nachgedacht meinen Blog in englisch zu schreiben damit alle ihn lesen können aber dann dachte ich das es einigen garnicht gefallen wird und deswegen versuche ich ihn nun in english und deutsch zu schreiben. Es tut mir leid das ich so lange nichts gepostet habe, aber die Tage vergehen hier so schnell und ich versuche alles zu genießen. Letzten Monat sind so viele coole Sachen passiert, die ich alle gerne mit euch teilen möchte.  Als erstes hatte ich meinen Valentienstagsball. Ein Freund hat mich gefragt und wir hatten zusammen sehr viel spaß und ich habe viele neue Freunde gemacht und eine neue Liebe in dem fotographieren mit einer Polaroidkamera gefunden. In der Woche nach dem Ball sind wir zu den Harlem Globetrotters gegangen. Die machen eine sehr witzige show und spielen nur zum Spaß. (guckt es euch einfach an, der link ist oben). Meine Gastfamilie ist mit einer Freundin und mir für ein Wochenende nach Luisiana gefahren und wir haben den Geburtstag meiner Gastma in einem der bekanntesten Casinos von Luisiana gefeiert. Ich hatte eine sehr schöne Zeit und jetzt hat der name "Kinderbäckerei" auch eine ganz neue Bedeutung für mich. Unser Basketball team hat es bist zu State geschafft (gleicht Landesmeisterschaften) und ich hoffe das sie das auch gewinnen. Die Unterstützung der Teams hier ist wirklich unglaublich. Es ist schön den School Spirit live zu erleben aber darüber mache ich euch noch ein Video.

Monat1Lieblinge (Januar)

Hey y'all
Ich bin heute seit genau einem Monat hier und es kommt mir vor als wäre es eine Woche. Trotzdem ist viel passiert und ich habe einen Haufen an Dingen erlebt. Ihr wurdet ja immer auf dem laufenden gehalten und ich hoffe es hat euch bis hier auch gefallen. (Btw ich würde mich über ein bisschen mehr Feedback freuen) Heute stelle ich euch meine Monat1 (bzw. Januar) Lieblinge vor:

Superbowl #2 und mein Wochenende

Hey yall :D 

Ich wollte euch mal von meinem Wochenende berichten. Dieses Wochenende war (wie ihr bestimmt alle wisst) Super-Bowl-Wochenende. Wir haben das Spiel in dem Haus von dem Chef meines Gastdads geguckt und dafür am Samstag diesen unglaublich riesigen und mega schön dekorierten cookie gekauft. 

Es gab eine riesige Auswahl an Super Bowl cookies cakes und Torten. Alle waren super süß dekoriert und hatten kleine Plastikringe als Verzierung. 

Es gab ein riesiges Buffet...

...und natürlich einen (okay eigentlich zwei) riesigen Fernseher.

 Leider hat "unser" Team sehr schlecht gespielt und verloren. Naja auf ein besseres, nächstes Jahr Broncos!! Die Niederlage haben wir schnell mit dem Dekorieren für den Valentienstag verkraftet. Das ganze Haus ist jetzt voll mit kleinen süßen Dekorationen.

 Valentienstag wird hier sehr ernst genommen. Mütter senden ihren Kinder Kuscheltiere, Blumen oder Süßigkeiten in die Schule, Jungs schenken ihren Freundinnen ebenfalls Kuscheltiere oder Blumen, Lehrer, Eltern und Großeltern bekommen von den Kindern meist auch eine Kleinigkeit geschenkt und Männer schenken ihren Frauen teuren Schmuck oder Blumen.
In meiner Schule wird es einen Valentienstagsball geben, und wenn ich von jemandem gefragt werde, gehe ich wahrscheinlich auch hin. ;)

Da wir hier ja nicht schon genug Süßes essen, haben wir am Wochenende auch noch Schokofrüchte gemacht. Die waren wirklich lecker und es war einfacher als zu Hause. Wir haben einfach einen kleinen Becher Schokolade gekauft und in die Mikrowelle gestellt.
Alles in allem war es ein Wochenende voller Essen und Spaß.
